Google Caffeine – The VEO Search Engine Watch Report

(My apologies for the bad lighting in this video, just moved to a new house and haven’t found the boxes with all my cool gear yet…)

Search Engine Optimization is about to go through another MAJOR change with the imminent Google Caffeine update coming.

If you have been relying on popular social media sources for creating search engine dominance, where your website combined with your social media satellite pages, get multiple listings in Google then you get be in for a rude awakening if you haven’t been using VEO publishing methodologies as outlined in my popular training sessions.

Don’t worry, I will make sure I let you know when I am going to open the doors on my next online business school sessions so you can enjoy sustainable traffic in this new Google Caffeine update.

What’s going to happen with the version of Google?

Here is a high level overview of what you can expect when Google starts to phase in the Caffeine infrastructure and software.

1. Increased focus on website authority

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “What exactly is an authority site?” and here is the best definition that I can give you that describes what it means to be an authority site in the eyes of Google:

An authority site is a site that has many inbound links from other authority hub sites. By receiving several citations from trusted hub sites an authority site will have a high TrustRank and will also have high search engine placement. An example of an authority site is Wikipedia.com

2. Increased focus on website semantics

What this means is you need to have a website plan in place, giving thought to your website structure and how you create your website content.

The key factor to my planning success is my favorite SEO software tool, KRA Pro.

Go order KRA Pro Now!

Seriously, if you don’t have this software then your website will be missing from the top search results in Google.

When I am selecting a top level keyword to target this is THE main tool I use for planning my website categories and more importantly adding supporting depth to every article I write.

3. Search Engine Domination – RIP

May search engine domination tactics rest in peace

In case you don’t know what I mean when I say search engine domination, that means you get several of your own properties created using social media sites like Scribd.com, HubPages.com etc all sitting at the top of the search engine.

While this isn’t going impact every social media page you create, I am seeing a tendency in the Google Sandbox that fewer of my social media satellite pages are appearing at the top of the search results.

4. Possibly Diminishing Google Universal Search

If you don’t know what Universal Search is its when you get a combination of Google’s services appearing in the main search results pages. Services like Google News, Video and Image results will appear along side web page listings to provide clarity here’s an example.

In this example I looked at another one of Google’s services called Hot Trends and arbitrarily searched the hottest search term. In this picture you can see an example of Google News appearing in the search results:

This screen shot was taken from further down the page where you can see Google Images and Google Hot Trends are appearing in the top ten search results.

Hi Colin, For free traffic from google I am doing the same stuff I have been doing for the last 6 or 7 years to my webpages + websites. My sites still show up for my keywords in Google and the other search engines. Most people starting out tend to over-optimize the onpage stuff and don’t get the incoming links right or from the wrong places + announcing your links to the wrong places will produce slow indexing. I have been using these same methods for years when doing work for clients and have always had happy clients who want me to do more work to get even more high converting traffic and customers for them. Great info Colin, always look forward to reading your news. Thanks again , Harry gamingphone@gmail.com

    Hey Colin ,

    i didn’t understand your point # 3, could explain a little more.
Also are you saying that google’s honeymoon with Squidoo, hubpages and the like is over? Are they at the “7 year itch” point with social media already? How long do we have to wait and find out?.

    • Hey Dale,

Not sure what happened when I copied this article into the blog….

Anyway, I beefed up point #3 and yes it’s looking like the “7 year itch” is going to creep in here

I anticipated this update to happen about a year ago but Google officially announced they were doing this in August so I would best guess that this will start to happen towards the end of this month or early to mid-November.

      Hope that helps

      Colin

This is interesting but it’s also validating – how many times have I considered and then just skipped a tactic which was “so successful” but which would not survive the algorithm changes you predict here.

Either I knew it was stupid, or I had a bad feeling about it, or the idea annoyed me, or I just never got around to it – and now, it looks like that’s not such a bad thing. I am also glad I changed my strategy a while ago toward building more authority sites instead of having a bunch of small fry sitting around begging for attention all at once.

    • Anna,

I sounds like you’ve been playing the online marketing game for a while now

I too continually resist these “Flash in the Pan” strategies because I know first hand from experience that the “Too good to be true” crap is going to make lots of people some money for the short term but will ultimately destroy the would-be entrepreneurs “Can Do” attitude

There’s no pill harder to swallow than getting fast cash success only to see those earnings VANISH over night.

Yeah, I’ve been there done that and because of the pain I’ve had to deal with in the past from immense losses from these short lived strategies is EXACTLY why I created VEO strategies.

Because I want to help people avoid the angst I felt is the reason for creating video tutorials, I don’t want any business owner or aspiring entrepreneur to feel the pains I did in the past when I watched my online empire vanish literally overnight!

Before I got the success I have now, I promised myself back in 1995, that if I ever figure this online stuff out that I will help others and show them the truth in achieving dreams

And here I am, fulling that promise to myself :)
