Capital One VentureOne Card Benefits Review

Rewards cards look great on paper, but they can be hard to manage. Many cards cause problems with redeeming miles, airlines get ornery about which seats you can use points for, you usually have additional fees and on top of all of that, there is generally an annual fee to keep in mind.

These sorts of things cause no end of frustration for credit card users, particularly those who are only modest spenders and only need to use their rewards every so often.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, then you may want to look at the Capital One VentureOne Rewards credit card and see how it can help you get more out of your spending habits.

Take Advantage of Better Benefits

This reward style credit card is mainly a travel related card that gives you Miles which can then be redeemed for things like airfare, hotel stays and car rentals. You get 1.25 miles per dollar spent which is a little better than many of the competitors and on top of that, you can get a bonus of 10,000 miles when you spend your first $1,000 on the card (within the first three months). This is the equivalent of a $100.00 in travel discounts.

It’s very easy to redeem these miles for whatever goodies you want; you simply have to go online and pick which expenses you want your miles to go towards! These can include things like airfare and hotel stays. With a bit of planning and regular use of your card, travel will become a lot more affordable which is something that we can all get behind. There is also no limit on the amount of miles you can earn, they don’t expire and you don’t have to worry about blackout dates.

There are some other swanky perks associated with this card. For example, you get access to VISA signature benefits such as advance ticket sales and room upgrades. There is also an extended warranty program for things purchased on your card, travel insurance to the tune of $250,000, concierge services, and car rental insurance. It’s pretty easy to really enjoy this card and stay safe thanks to all of these benefits.

Fees Associated with this Card

The Capital One VentureOne rewards card is far from the only card of its type, including within Capital One’s own stable. However, one of its selling points is its lack of annual fee. There are actually two Venture One credit cards; one of them has an annual fee (waived after one year) and this one does not-it’s geared towards people who don’t feel they should pay an annual fee on their credit card or who don’t feel they’ll use it enough to justify the fee.

This card also has an intro APR of 0% on purchases until June of 2014 and then goes to between 11.9% and 19.9%, depending on your credit rating. There is no balance transfer intro APR though, so don’t think you can use this card as a way to save money on your debt repayments. There is also no foreign transaction fee, so you can keep using this credit card on your travels without worrying about a big(ger) bill at the end of the day.

If you don’t spend a ton of money a year on your credit card, then this is the card for you; you don’t have to worry about an annual fee to make up the difference with and you can still enjoy rewards that are a little higher than many other travel credit cards. It’s a great way to get more travel benefits out of your credit card, save some money, and enjoy a card that is widely accepted and easy to keep track of. If all of this sounds good to you, then we suggest applying for the Capital One VentureOne rewards credit card today and happy trails tomorrow!
