Dell is one of the leaders in laptop/notebook technology and as such, they already have very established lines of notebooks for consumers and businesses alike. One of the strongest lines is the Dell Inspiron line which covers several portable computers, each with their own strengths and uses. If you are looking at getting a Dell Inspiron, then you should carefully look at each type to pick on that is best for your needs.

Dell Inspiron 6000

The Dell Inspiron 6000 is best known for its 15 inch screen which has a beautiful display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. However, it is also a great traveling laptop with over five hours of battery life (with the nine cell battery which is a $99.00 add on) and one GB of RAM. It also has great speakers, much better than most laptops in its class. The combination of high resolution and great audio makes it ideal for playing movies and music, as well as doing work.

Dell Inspiron 1420

The Dell Inspiron 1420 is a basic notebook, best used for students. It has a 14.1 inch high resolution screen with brilliant color. It also has four USB ports, unlike the usual three or even two for notebooks. It has 4GB of RAM for faster performance and a duo core processor. It’s also built sturdily, though the paint job is less than stellar with some reviewers finding a chip or two straight out of the box. The Dell Inspiron 1420 is not as good a notebook for traveling as others though with an average battery life of just over two hours (three hours and a bit with a nine cell battery). For a student though, the classic and sleek lines combined with the general sturdiness, along with solid performance, will make the Dell Inspiron 1420 a great notebook for classes

Dell Inspiron 1525

The Dell Inspiron 1525 is a very dependable laptop, best used by people who need a variety of things out of their laptop, though it doesn’t do well for gamers at all. However, for students, workers or general consumers, the Dell Inspiron 1525 delivers with a 15.4 inch screen, light weight, complete customization (right down to color) if you order online, and Windows Vista Home Premium as the operating system. The Dell Inspiron 1525 has a 120 GB hard drive and 2048 MB of memory, so you’ll want to buy some extra storage space. In short, the Dell Inspiron 1525 is a great laptop to buy if you want some dependability and stability in your computer, but nothing fancy.

Dell Inspiron 1501

The Dell Inspiron 1501 is an older Dell model which came out as a widescreen Dell laptop. However, it struggled against many of its competitors because it didn’t have as many features as comparable laptops made by other companies. The 1501 has an AMD processor which is quite a bit slower than duo core, but it makes the 1501 cheaper. The laptop also has a 60GB hard drive. However, the widescreen is sharp and well defined and the computer used a Windows XP media center for the operating system, furthering its usefulness as a media center more than an office or student computer.

Dell Inspiron 530

The Dell Inspiron 530 is a desktop with amazing visual abilities and plenty of room for expansion and growth. This Dell Inspiron Desktop is unfortunately hampered by a 128 MB hard drive which does not allow it to play more elaborate games that could take advantage of the better graphics abilities. Still, boasting powerful productivity capabilities and running Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate, it’s a great computer for at home, work, and simple gaming. It’s also extremely affordable, though be careful about adding a lot of modifications because the price will swiftly rise before you know it, but it starts at around $500.00 which is amazingly affordable for a desktop with a great graphics card and monitor.
